My name is Áine, which is an Irish name pronounced Awnya. I am a producer, community organizer, facilitator, communications strategist, and fashion model. I am the co-founder of the Model Activist Community, aka, the Model Mafia.

I’m half Chinese, half Scottish-Irish-English and was raised in England.

My work

I’m passionate about building resilient, non-hierarchical communities and systems, championing sustainability and justice in the fashion industry, and using the power collective action and storytelling for deep social change.

In my communications work I am always looking to create human focused content and community programming, and to help organizations expand their vision to be more equitable, inclusive and just. As a producer and project manager, I help create the roadmap for bringing your vision into reality.

My personal work often comes to life most in community programming. Whether through activism workshops, transformative talks and panels, music events or fashion shows, it’s all about bringing people together to be deeply moved and to connect more authentically with themselves and one another.

I have worked for the incredible musician Jon Batiste, the innovative platform Ubooker models, and the beautiful children’s mindfulness book When I am Quiet, among others.

Sustainable Fashion

As a model, I promote sustainable and ethical fashion, and collaborate with conscious brands to align my image with my beliefs as much as possible. This choice has allowed me to deep-dive into what ethical and eco-friendly fashion really means-from the long term environmental impacts of making fashion, to the labour behind the production of clothes throughout the entire supply change, and what “sustainable” truly translates into as a lifestyle and culture. I am represented by Role Models Management.

Model Activist

In December 2016 I co-founded the Model Activist Community, aka the Model Mafia, with fellow model activist Cameron Russell. The Model Mafia is a group of dedicated fashion models who take collective action to create a more fair and just world. The Model Mafia was featured in the Edit and has collaborated with organizations such as Eco-Age, the United Nations, BRAC, Pure Earth and Black Lives Matter. As co-founder, I focus on creating a safe space for each of our members, lifting up their work and facilitating their leadership through thoughtful and impactful programming that creates a strong and agile community.
